Hi There!
Alicia Franklin is a traveling artist presently based in Vancouver, Canada, and originally from Clearwater, Florida.

Alicia's art encounters topics of change, self-identity, and childlike wonder. Her prints and illustrations require attention to vibrant colorful details that shock the soul and bring a viewer into their conscious landscape.
Alicia's influences stem from her love of alternative subcultures in music and fashion such as the 1990s rave and goth scene as well as the psychedelic revolution in the 1960s and 1970s. Other influences include the animation Studio Ghibli, Studio Trigger, and Disney. Alicia always flourishes when she can listen or tell a story and hones in on what it means to an audience.
Alicia has always been drawn to using unconventional tools and methods such as working with highlighters, clothing, Crayola crayons, ink, receipts, and brochures. Alicia takes advantage of traditional materials and methods such as using various types of paint (oil, watercolor, acrylic, and gouache), working with pencils and charcoal, printing techniques (silk screen, linocut, etching), wood building and construction, embroidering/sewing, physical make up for costume design, and stop motion in film using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Alicia presented her art at the Morean Art Center for the Word & Image Exhibition in 2017 and 2018. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for honorable mention for 2017 and 2018. The Art Festival Beth-El Award for 2017 and 2018. The Florida State Fair Fine Art competition (ages 14 to 18) Alicia won best of show and runner-up for two pieces in 2019. Pinellas County School Administrative Building Annual Exhibit for 2016, 2017, 2018. The Best All Around Artist for Dixie Hollins High School for 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Pinellas 3+ Dimensions in 2017.
Alicia since high school has graduated with her Associate of Arts in 2021 from Saint Petersburg College with an emphasis on Printmaking assisted by head director Jonathan Barnes. And is continuously pursuing her love of the arts everywhere the wind takes her.
